The upcoming Amazon Prime series The Boys has a panel at San Diego Comic-Con today. Fans eager to see the line-up got even more good news. The streaming network is renewing the dark superhero comedy before a single episode has even aired. A new cast member for season 2, Aya Cash, was also announced

The series is based on the comic book by Garth Ennis (Preacher) and Darick Robertson and was created for television by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. Adding to that nice line-up of creators, the series is directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen who previously teamed up for Preacher.

The cast is as amazing as the creative team. Karl Urban stars in the show along with Elisabeth Shue, Laz Alonso, Jack Quaid, Karen Fukuhara, Tomer Kapon, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie Usher, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchel, Jennifer Esposito and Simon Pegg.

In the show, Supes have been committing atrocities, which keep getting swept under the rug because they are revered by the adoring public. Billy Butcher (Urban) recruits The Boys who have all been wronged by The Seven, the world’s most notorious superheroes, to bring them down and stop the corruption.

The trailers so far for The Boys have been dark, bloody, hilarious and incredibly original. There’s sure to be some announcements during their panel so check back with Geek Girl Authority to keep up to date.
