The highly-anticipated animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, starring Shameik Moore (Miles Morales) and Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Gwen), about a world FULL of spider-people, started the panel.  Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who helmed the film, talked about their love of the universe, and of Miles himself.

Then it was team Venom’s turn.  Fans in Hall H were given Venom masks to cover their mouths with signature teeth and tongue, and chanted “We are Venom!”  as the panel switched gears to the comic book/horror film.

Director Ruben Fleischer expressed his desire for Spider-Man and Venom to meet in the future. But this movie has no heroes. Tom Hardy was also on the panel (his first time in Hall H) and Riz Ahmed was there. Ahmed plays Riot in the film. Fans’ reactions to the Venom trailer were positive. Most people thought they saw Carnage in the footage.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters December 14th, 2018. Venom premieres October 5th, 2018.
