SDCC 2018: IRON FIST Gets a Second Season Date

Erin Lynch

Proclaimed as one of the weaker Netflix Marvel shows, Iron Fist will be back to prove people wrong. Hopefully. Announced in a trailer during SDCC, we learned just when we’d be seeing Danny Rand again. And fans won’t have to wait for long to see him.

The trailer shows Rand coming across some thugs beating a man up. He feels that a war is brewing. But New York is his city now, and he’s ready to protect it and it’s citizens. He calls out to the thugs in a “pick on someone your own size” manner before fighting them. We’re treated to a lot of punches before they unleash a really cool shot. A thug gets punched to the ground and we take over their point of view. Watching from the ground, we see Rand take on the other thug and knock him back. But there’s more men coming so his first starts to glow.

Hopefully they address the complaints fans had about the first season, such as choreography and pacing issues. Outside of the whitewashing thing of course, since it’s a bit too late for that now.  And while there’s no plans for a second The Defenders season, it feels like the shows are leading up to another one. Never say never, right?

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Marvel TV news from SDCC 2018. Iron Fist returns to Netflix on September 7th, 2018.
