DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has landed at San Diego Comic Con with details about the upcoming season four. The Legends have caused chaos before, but they’ve always corrected their mistakes. With addition of John Constantine to the team, the Legends are bound to deal with darker forces in season four.

The Panel: Matt Ryan, Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Courtney Ford, Phil Klemmer and Keto Shimizu

The audience got their first look at season four. The video contained a lot of old footage, but there is some new footage. The Legends meet the Beatles. Sara is happy that there are no messes to clean up. Nate says Constantine promised more magic. And Mick wants his dragons!

Klemmer points out that only three original cast members are left in the group: Lotz, Routh, and Purcell. He says they have never been in a scene with just the three of them.

Some casting news, the show is bringing in Ramona Young (Z Nation) as Alaska Yu and Tom Wilson (Back to the Future) as Nate’s father Hank Heywood. Yes…that’s Biff! Alask is described by Shimizu as someone delivering Postmates to Gary (Adam Tsekhman).

As previously reported, Ryan, Macallan and Ford were promoted to series regulars for season four. “What’s great is everything that I’ve studied about this character is from the comics… what we’ve got here is a bunch of characters Constantine has never interacted with before,” Ryan said.

Ford isn’t quite sure what’s in store for Nora. “I really feel for her. She’s been through a lot,” Ford said, “She’s not with her father. She has to figure out who she is without these influences. Is she going to go down this dark path, or get a job at Starbucks? Will she become a complicated ally?”

Macallan stated that we will see a softer side to Ava and Sara. “We’re going to see these really strong women try to domesticate and be softer.”

Richardson-Sellers remains a series regular, but will not playing Amaya this season. She will be playing a Brit named Charlie  “She’s a rebel without a cause…on a journey of self-discovery. She’s been locked up as long as she can remember.”

The question that is on everyone’s mind…will Beebo return? The answer is YES! And Beebo appeared on the panel! He gave a bunch of hugs, sat at the end of the table and removed the head of the costume to reveal…it’s just Gary. Tsekhman is the man in the Beebo suit that’s been gallivanting around SDCC. He thanked the fans for liking Gary.

For the time being, there is no news on the return of Firestorm or Captain Cold, but it is something that remains in their back pockets. One person that is also missing is Keiynan Lonsdale who played Wally West/Kid Flash.

Ashe talked about the importance of representation. Ashe plays Zari, the first Muslim superhero on TV. She says we’re going to see more of Zari’s backstory, “She’s experienced prejudice… she kind of has hindsight in a way, and she’s trying to pass that on to the other Legends and also apply to what’s going on.”

One of the biggest developments from last spring is Sara’s father, Quinten Lance died on Arrow. Lotz said, “I think it’s sometimes really hard bringing something that happens on other shows onto your show. Our show is also a comedy now. It’s light and it’s fun and you’re dad dying is not so much. Sara dealing with that takes place before the season starts. We talk about it a little.” Lotz also said she’d like to see Katie Cassidy appear on LoT as Black Siren.

From the trailer, it looks like we’re in for a good time. I mean, they have a unicorn! And BEEBO!

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns Monday October, 22.
