SDCC 2018: Cartoon Network Brings STEVEN UNIVERSE Panel, Garnet & More

Cartoon Network is treating Steven Universe fans to a variety of experiences and unique merchandise at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con

First stop: the Superheroes of Body Positivity panel from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Horton Grand Theater on Thursday, July 19. This “Conversation with Steven Universe‘s Rebecca Sugar and Friends” is being staged in partnership with Dove’s Self-Esteem Project and will feature Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar, Estelle (voice of Garnet) and experts from the Self-Esteem Project.

Next up: visit Cartoon Network’s booth, #3735, which will be decked out with the Crystal Gems and feature the chance to be in a parallax scene with your favorite characters. Look out for SDCC-exclusive products from Steven Universe, Adventure Time and other CN shows, including a Steven Universe sketchbook, a variety of plush dolls and an epic Cookie Cat shirt.

Rounding out the Steven Universe action: the official panel on Saturday, July 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. in the Hilton Bayfront Indigo Ballroom. Estelle (Garnet), Michaela Dietz (Amethyst), Deedee Magno Hall (Pearl), Zach Callison (Steven), and Rebecca Sugar will share insights about the show, big announcements and the high likelihood of original music.

Cartoon Network will also bid farewell to Adventure Time with an event on Friday, July 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Hilton Bayfront Indigo Ballroom, with a live musical performance featuring tracks from the series, along with special guests and an exclusive series finale trailer.

Other CN luminaries will be on hand for the Cartoon Network Creators: Drawing on Inspiration panel on Saturday, July 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in room 25ABC. Panelists Matt Burnett and Ben Levin from Craig of the Creek, Daniel Chong from We Bare Bears, Diego Molano from Victor & Valentino and Julia Pott from Summer Camp Island, along with moderator Ian Jones-Quartey from OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes will share why they were inspired to get into animation, highlights of their paths to becoming show runners and insights on what it takes to bring stories to life.
