3 weeks ago, fans were introduced to the world of vampires, witches and daemons. We’re of course talking about Deborah Harkness‘s series A Discovery of Witches, the first book in the All Souls trilogy delving into the life of a witch who falls in love with a vampire. There’s a lot more to it than that of course! The cast lined up in Ballroom 20 and were able to talk about the show to fans. And they had a very special announcement for fans here on the other side of the pond.
Teresa Palmer, Alex Kingston, Valerie Pettiford, Owen Teale, Deborah Harkness, and producer Lachlan MacKinnon were on the panel. It seems star Matthew Goode couldn’t make the panel this year. But right off the bat they had good news. Sundance Now and Shudder would be debuting the series over here in the States! They’ll be working with Sky One to bring the series to all the American fans. From there, it was a lot of fun banter between the actors.

- Palmer said her chemistry was instant with Goode and bonded over their lives as parents of children.
- On the relationship between Diana and Matthew “what draws them together is forbidden love; otherworldly; they have a need for each other. There aren’t words to describe that kind of passionate connection. She knows it’s gonna be dangerous and scary. But she can’t help herself.”
- Kingston got a bit of an innuendo in when she said she’s the “dominant” one.
- The panel played several clips including ones between lesbian couple Sarah and Emily! Heck yes to LGBT couples!
