Earpers, this weekend harbored big news for our Wynonna Earp family. SyFy is giving us a third season! Yes, you read that right. Our little supernatural Western about the most bad*** demon slaying gunslinger will be back for more whiskey and doughnuts. Someone get me to Shorty’s post haste because I’m in dire need of some celebratory imbibing. Although, perhaps a panel at SDCC is a step above Purgatory’s favorite bar.

The cast and creators of Wynonna Earp gathered on Saturday, July 22nd to put on a panel fans will surely never forget. We had the main core actors in attendance: Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp), Shamier Anderson (Dolls), Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp), Katherine Barrell (Nicole), Varun Saranga (Jeremy) and Tamara Duarte (Rosita). Creator of the TV series Emily Andras was also present, as well as comic book creator Beau Smith. Needless to say, it was a full house for the Earper fandom.

Firstly, the hot button topic of star Melanie Scrofano’s real-life pregnancy was brought to the forefront. Andras recalled receiving a phone call from Scrofano, after having much of the second season already fleshed out. However, she (thankfully) accepted the pregnancy with open arms and decided to write it into the script. Yes, you’re really watching Scrofano’s adorable baby bump on screen. Andras also recalled how grateful she was when the SyFy team had such a positive response to the news. She went on to call Wynonna Earp a “totally bad*** feminist show,” and she’s very much correct in that assessment. Where else can you watch a pregnant woman send demons back to Hell?

Then, the discussion evolved into Shamier Anderson’s contact lenses which, surprise, he wears them when he’s Lizard Man. Or is he Sexy Dragon Man? Still to be determined. We learned that Waverly and Wynonna’s demon possession eyes from the beginning of Season 2 are the products of special effects. Ah, the magic of television.

Next, the conversation shifted to polyamory and threesomes between cast members. Then, the focus jumped to a hookup between a certain pair: Dolls and Doc. This is what the world craves. Tim Rozon says he’s all in for a threesome. Take notes, Wynonna Earp Writers Room!

The cast gushed about working alongside Scrofano and her powerhouse performances. Katherine Barrell confessed that she gets nervous when acting with Scrofano, because “she’s so fantastic.” Dominique Provost-Chalkley’s favorite moment from Season 2 involved Scrofano – it was one of many Earp sister scenes. Remember when Doc wrote Wynonna a note saying he was “all in” for Baby Earp? That scene, where Waverly is cradling her sobbing sister. Powerful, no doubt. Rozon’s favorite moment was from the previous episode, where Doc affectionately touched Wynonna’s baby bump. In short, everyone is Team Scrofano. As they should be.

Shamier Anderson said his favorite moment was his stakeout scene with Jeremy. Mine too! Varun Saranga mentioned his favorite moment was his first scene with Waverly. Barrell loved her scene with Nedly. Nedly needs more love. Meanwhile Tamara Duarte, Andras and Scrofano all insisted their favorites hadn’t happened yet.

The panel also touched on the definition of family, as Wynonna Earp takes said textbook definition and turns it on its head. Andras commented that for her it’s about forging your own family, as Wynonna is doing right now.

We also heard Beau Smith discuss his collaboration with Andras. Did you know Smith created Wynonna Earp in 1996? Technically, she’s not even old enough to drink yet. Smith commented on the advice Andras gave him, and little snippets here and there that he used for Season Zero. He also confessed his love for Rozon and that he enjoys collaborating with the Docstache wearer. Yes, our Doc Holliday has also contributed to the Wynonna Earp comic universe.

Now, what can we expect for Season 3? Andras vowed that we would see all of our favorites, no doubt. Probably some whiskey, doughnuts, Shorty’s and Doc’s coveted hat. The Dolls/Jeremy burgeoning bromance. Peacemaker, of course. Wynonna’s snarky remarks and WayHaught scenes aplenty. Our Earp Sisters banding together as they always do. Essentially, Wynonna Earp will continue to remain the show we love in Season 3, and hopefully beyond.

Wynonna Earp airs Fridays at 10pm on your SyFy affiliate.
