Marvel Entertainment just released a new trailer at SDCC for their upcoming series Inhumans. While a lot of the footage we’ve previously seen, there’s more intriguing bits thrown in. The ABC Family series has been pushing it’s IMAX footage hard and continue to prove it in this trailer.

King of Attilan, Black Bolt (Anson Mount), has been hiding their city but there’s restlessness. His brother, Maximus (Iwan Rheon), is convinced that the humans will find them and that they need to act first. Though the Queen of Attilan, Medusa (Serinda Swan), reminds him that the action will lead to war between the two. When tensions rise and the King disappears, Maximus takes the throne. It’s revealed that he’s only human, so he is shown little respect, especially from the Queen.

While the family drama of the royal family is still heavily present, we also get to see a bit more pertaining to the regular Inhumans. Their powers seem to range from super strength to great hand-to-hand combat skills. Okay, admittedly, we really don’t see much of their powers. Only that they all have unique designs. But we do know the drama of Maximus taking the throne and bringing war to Earth affects them all. At least it’s officially confirmed that they live on the moon!

Personally I find the IMAX promotion to be a bit much. It’s overbearing in all of their trailers to the point where I want to yell at the screen that I get it. Some of the effects in the show look good, while others, like Medusa’s hair, are a bit too cheap. I’m also a little worried that we haven’t really heard Mount speak much. As he’s the main character, shouldn’t he be talking more? In addition, the use of Rag’n’Bone Man‘s “Human” is just so sigh worthy, I’m not sure I can watch it again. But! Those are just my thoughts.
