Scream fans, our queen has returned. Neve Campbell announced on her Instagram that she will be joining the cast of Scream 5. She will be reprising her role as Sidney Prescott, the heroine of the series. She is joining Courtney Cox and David Arquette, both of whom will be reprising their roles as well. Newcomers to the franchise include Jack Quaid, Jenna Ortega, and Melissa Barrera in unnamed roles. Both Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be taking over the reins as directors.

There isn’t much else known about the upcoming horror film, though I can venture to guess we will be seeing quite a bit of Ghostface. What I can say is that I am beyond excited to see a new installment to this franchise. I was worried that after the passing of Wes Craven in 2015 that everything would end. And while I wish we could see his vision for Scream 5, I have faith that Bettinelli-Olphin and Gillett will give us an installment worthy of the franchise.

Scream 5 has entered into the pre-production phase and is currently slated to release on January 14, 2022. Check back with us for more upcoming news and let us know how excited you are that our scream queen is back!
