This past weekend, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group dropped nine new character posters and a featurette for the highly anticipated Scream. These posters are stylized the same way the original trios were that dropped on Friday, featuring the actor/actress and the Ghostface mask. I’ve got some ideas about this, but more on that later. The fifth installment to the iconic horror franchise is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a script written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.

Scream returns to Woodsboro 25 years after the brutal murders of the first film as a brand new killer dons the Ghostface mask. But they aren’t just here to cause fear in the people’s hearts. They target those related to the original killers and uncover decades of Woodboros deepest and ugliest secrets. The old and new generations will need to work together to figure out who is behind the mask and try to stop this terror once and for all.
So my Scream theory? Most of the killers within the franchise have been front and center until that very last twist. This means that there is a chance we might be looking at the killer in any of these photos. And I mean any of them. Everyone involved is related to the original murders and maybe one of them has a bone to pick with Sidney (Neve Campbell) for how it all went down. The posters and featurette help reiterate that anyone could be behind the mask.
Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Marley Shelton return to Scream alongside newcomers Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Sonia Ammar.
