On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, Netflix unveiled the theme song for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The upcoming anime adaption for streaming drops on Friday, November 17, 2023. The theme song, “Bloom”, features lyrics and composition by Asahi, arrangement by the Japanese rock band, Necry Talkie, and Shinihi Nakamura coordinated it. The series is based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series by Brian Lee O’Malley. Better yet, it will reunite the cast of the live-action cult classic movie, Scott Pilgrim Versus the World.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off
Leading the star-studded cast are Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers. Cera and Winstead will be joined by many of the actors who appeared in Scott Piligrim Versus the World. These include Kieran Culkin (Wallace Wells), Anna Kendrick (Stacey Pilgrim), Brie Larson (Natalie V. Adams), Alison Pill (Kim Pine), Aubrey Plaza (Julie Powers), Johnny Simmons (Young Neil), Mark Webber (Stephen Stills) and Ellen Wong (Knives Chau).

Also returning will be many of Ramona’s exes. These include Satya Bhabha as (#1, Matthew Patel), Chris Evans (#2, Lucas Lee), Brandon Routh (#3, Todd Ingram), Mae Whitman (#4, Roxie) and Jason Schwartzman (#7, Gideon Graves).
The series is written and executive produced by O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski. Eunyoung Choi serves as executive producer, and Abel Gongora directs. The series comes from anime house Science SARU. It will feature music by Anamanaguchi and Joseph Trapanese. And super fans take note: the creators have already warned that even the most devoted fans will find something surprising about the anime adaptation.
