ISA isn’t a series, it’s a made for television movie. An original movie for Syfy. Wait, what? It’s not a genetically altered insect invading a large city? It doesn’t have meteors? No tornadoes with sharks? (which I admit are fun) Based on the trailer, it’s a surreal, suspenseful science fiction film.
I hadn’t heard about ISA until last night. Syfy hasn’t been doing a lot of advertising for it. In fact, it’s not on until 11:30PM. Not sure why. There are no tweets on their @SyfyTV account or the @Syfy account. There’s nothing about ISA on their youtube site. I hope it’s not because the film has mostly Latino actors, that wouldn’t be cool.
Now, the truth is Syfy did not produce ISA. Telemundo and Fluency studios did. But, that fact didn’t stop Syfy from promoting Splice and Adjustment Bureau this week. And if it’s because the movie is bad, well, that’s never stopped Syfy from promoting before. So, what gives?
The film ISA centers around Isa Reyes. A teenager who, after an accident, discovers she has a chip in her head that allows her to meld her dreams and her reality together.
