She’s Hopeless
In Seokwoo‘s newest Webtoon, She’s Hopeless; we follow Gabin, a wealthy high school student who is struggling with being bullied for being a loner. She doesn’t put up with the bullying and even becomes infamous for her fierce personality. However, this doesn’t stop her family from worrying. It gets so bad that they secretly hire Tae-ung 500,000 won to transfer schools and act as her bodyguard! Will he be able to protect her from the bullies all while keeping his role a secret?
I know She’s Hopeless may be an extremely new Webtoon (it currently has 11 episodes), but this isn’t Seokwoo’s first rodeo. Having already published Days of Hana and Orange Marmalade, Seokwoo knows how to spin a story. And this one is already off to a great start. Just when you think Gabin is suffering because of these bullies, she pulls a 180. She doesn’t need them as friends nor wants them, which most likely causes the issues she is having. My favorite part so far, though, is the interactions between Gabin and Tae-ung are priceless!

Your Smile is a Trap
Our second series this week, Your Smile is a Trap, comes from Aengo. Ex-idol trainee Kiyu has lived his whole life until now adored by everyone for his good looks. But the stress of that life is getting to him and he dreams of ordinary high school life. One where he can put on glasses and blend into the world around him. So he puts on glasses and jumps right into the world without realizing just how hard making friends can really be. Not to mention he is socially awkward, has a new seatmate with a permanent scowl and his fans have found his new school.
Your Smile is a Trap is a heartwarming read that reminds us just how deceptive looks can really be. On the outside, Kiyu has a perfect life and everything he has ever wanted. But the truth is far from that. He chooses to switch to a normal high school, which of course, brings him into contact with Lily Cha. Our girl has a permanent sour face but behind all of that is a friendly girl who loves to study. I love a good opposites attract story and Aengo is giving us that and so much more. It just started its second season, so jump on this one quick!
