REEDS Webtoon series.

Spooky season is gone and now it is time to cozy up with some romance this week! First, we have zzsleepsREEDS. The story brings together a kidnapped prince named Shu, a mysterious traveler with a dark secret named Keng and a dragon the beckons and promises great power. Fates collide in this magical fantasy of love, identity and the fire in one’s soul. There is so much to find within this world and secrets to uncover as Shu and Keng travel together.

REEDS is one of my comfort fantasy romance reads. I initially thought that this would just be a good-feeling romance story set in a fantasy world. And while yes, it is that, this series is so much more and features positive queer representation. The worldbuilding and lore within REEDS have been beautifully created and expands with each episode to pull you further into the story. And I can’t help but fall in love with Shu and Keng and am invested in making sure nothing or no one hurts them from here on out.

Beneath the Camphor Tree

Beneath the Camphor Tree

Beneath the Camphor Tree Webtoon series.

Our next romance series is FunkyFeetArt‘s Beneath the Camphor Tree. It follows Eun-ah, a woman disguised as a man in order to earn a living as hired protection. When she, by chance, saves a nobleman from being robbed, she learns that he is actually the Crown Prince of Joseon. And now, he wants her to be his personal bodyguard. The trouble, though, is that no one in the palace, including the Crown Prince, knows that Eun-ah is a female and now she needs to do everything to keep her secret.

Beneath the Camphor Tree is new to Webtoon Canvas and quickly made it onto my must-read list. FunkyFeetArt has just finished the prologue to the series and has recently kicked off season one. We are just seeing the current story, but this series is bound for greatness if the prologue is anything to go off of. Eun-ah is a strong-willed individual and I can’t help finding myself fully invested in her. Now is the perfect time to join in on this tale and become obsessed just like me!
