Nonesuch

Nonesuch WEBTOON Original Series.

Fall is upon us, which means the spooky season is right around the corner. So to help get us into the mood, our first series this week is Nonesuch from The Bitsy Artist. The series takes place in the town of Nonesuch – super ominous. The town has one simple rule; you can only leave with the person you arrived with. Which would be easier for Connor and Bridget, except dozens of copies surround them. But these copies are just mindless clones; they are watching, studying and learning more about the originals to become them. Can Connor and Bridget find their true selves and make it out alive?

We knew Nonesuch would be a must-read series for us when Bridget complained about knee problems. Something so simple yet so true. But, all jokes aside, this series is fantastic. It’s mysterious in all the right ways while never feeling overly scary, which makes it perfect to kick off the fall season with. There is this ominous feeling that the Connor and Bridget we see on the screen aren’t the real ones. How can we trust that they will make it out alive if we can’t even trust the ones the story is following? And that is what makes it such a great read. Plus, The Bitsy Artist’s style is fantastic and another reason to binge this series.

Escape Room

Escape Room WEBTOON Original Series.

Our second WEBTOON series this week falls into the thriller category and is the perfect series to gear up for the thriller/horror series binge coming in October. In 10PARK‘s Escape Room, Sean’s overly rational, sociopathic, unfeeling personality is the main thing that drives people away from him. He doesn’t really understand why but has accepted this fate without too much complaint. Then one day, he awakes in an escape room along with a group of people. No one knows how or why they are there. But now, everyone must work together to survive this sadistic game of life and death, where the only way out is to escape.

We love a good puzzle, but Escape Room makes us never want to set foot back in one again. The dark, ominous feelings have us on the edge of our seats every time we open a new chapter. The way 10PARK can spin this story while tying in the art style and overall tone helps to elevate this from other similar series and provide a uniqueness we need to see. Plus, watching Sean’s character unravel in front of your eyes is so satisfying. The series recently kicked off its fourth season, which gives readers tons of chapters to binge to get caught up on everything going on.
