Good morning fellow WEBTOON readers, and welcome to this week’s installment of Saturday Morning Webtoons! This is where we shine a light on two WEBTOONs we are thoroughly enjoying. These stories have had us captivated chapter after chapter each week, and we couldn’t pass up sharing them with you! Nexus Point
The new Amazon Prime Video series Paper Girls has had us in a sci-fi mood all week. So, of course, we had to talk about some of our favorites. We’re kicking things off with Trevor Mueller and Sebastian von Buchwald‘s Nexus Point. When Gemi Reynolds landed her dream tech job, she never expected to make it on someone’s hit list. But here she is. It’s a little overwhelming finding yourself tossed into the world of cybercrime. Who is going to keep her safe? Jack Travis, of course. The detective-turned-bounty hunter who was supposed to arrest her. But he needs her to keep him safe as his mysterious past comes to call.
We know what you’re thinking – ‘this series is so new.’ And you would be right. But it is phenomenal. From the characters to the world-building to the action, sci-fi and suspense – this series is packed. From the moment it dropped on WEBTOON, we were hooked. You can’t help but fall in love with Gemi and want to protect her every step of the way. Then throw in Jack, and getting to unravel his past is going to be so exciting. And finally, what really stuck the landing for us is the art style. The way they use colors to depict the hacking/sci-fi aspects and the way the characters come to life—chef’s kiss.

City of Blank
Our second series this week is 66‘s City of Blank. This world is filled with ghostly Blanks who can steal your face and life at any moment. The story follows Rex, a young boy on the hunt for his brother’s killer. He’s been cursed with the unique ability to physically touch Blanks. With that, he can start to uncover the darker secrets that lie at the city’s center and in his own past. Will Rex be able to uncover the truth, find out who killed his brother and survive to see another day? Or will he become another faceless victim in this city full of Blanks?
As we said, we have been obsessed with sci-fi this week. Which brought us back to City of Blank and this epic story. The story has a unique story that makes it feel like a true one-of-a-kind adventure. The mystery kicks off right away, and the little bits of information we get through each chapter is just enough to hold us over but never enough to ruin the story’s suspense. Unraveling the mystery behind Rex and his abilities leads to some very satisfying moments. There is nothing better than being able to put things together and having the “ah ha” moment while reading.
