Here There Be Dragons WEBTOON Original Series.

Fantasy and epic journeys are on our mind this week, so let’s kick things off with Disteal and Steve Horton‘s Here There Be Dragons. When Bree, a Dragonspeaker, receives a message from a very old and very near-death dragon, she sets off to save the world. Fighting alongside her team of young knights, Bree must face a perilous journey that will test her determination, might and the bonds with her new friends. Can she save everyone before it’s too late?

There isn’t enough time in the world to express how much we are loving Here There Be Dragons. Bree is an absolute badass and gem of a main character who is relatable and worthy of our admiration and support. The epic adventure our heroes go on fills a need that we have been searching for. Plus, the art style and attention to detail in every frame makes reading this tale truly enjoyable.

Escape from Oz

Escape from Oz WEBTOON Original Series.

Our second epic adventure is one that takes a story we know and twists it on its head. In Kelly Angel‘s Escape from Oz, Dot and her dog Toto crash land in Oz. Except this one isn’t packed with magic and delight, it’s a city famed for its nightlife, no way out and a vast amount of dangers. There is, however, a Wizard at the end of a yellow brick path who might be able to get Dot and Toto home in time to tend to the sheep chicken.

Have you ever read a WEBTOON that had you laughing so loud it scared the person next to you? Meet Escape from Oz. The epic adventure never takes itself too seriously, with creatures like sheep-chicken and a character contractually obligated never to wear a shirt or do manual labor. Yet, it manages to get you thinking about what it means to venture out on your own and find your way in the world.
