Good morning fellow Webtoon readers and welcome to this week’s installment of Saturday Morning Webtoons! This is where we shine a light on two Webtoons we are thoroughly enjoying. These stories have had us captivated chapter after chapter each week and we couldn’t pass up sharing them with you! So grab your favorite snacks, an electronic device and settle into these sensational stories.
DISCLAIMER: The following post has mild spoilers for Devilish Romance and Jackson’s Diary.
Lee Kong-joo and White Eagle have come together to bring us the supernatural webtoon Devilish Romance. After being unfairly framed in devildom, Sitri falls onto Earth as a human, losing his middle-tier devil rank. Now he is on a hunt for a serial killer that might just be able to take him back to his origin. Unfortunately, Sitri has other issues to worry about when he starts to fall in love with his strict human boss. Does love have no limits? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Both webtoons this week are fairly new but have really done well dragging me into their world. Devilish Romance is fantastic. Sitri, who unironically goes by Damon Ma on Earth, is hysterical! Unfortunately, his interactions with those around him, including Narcissa Gye, are made even worse by his lack of knowledge of the human world. Now is the perfect time to dive into this series since it just started! I promise tons of laughs right off the bat!
Devilish Romance updates every Saturday and can be read here!
Our second Webtoon this week is Jackson’s Diary by Paola Batalla. The year is 1989 and Jackson is starting his senior year of high school. Not too bad, right? Not exactly. He is at a brand new school this year and even though he is back in his hometown with his new family, he can’t seem to shake this ominous and uneasy feeling that keeps invading his mind. If that wasn’t bad enough, Jackson meets Exer, the popular kid, and reality starts to feel more like the work of his imagination.
Don’t blink, or you might just miss all the little supernatural elements within Jackson’s Diary. It really makes you think, “Is this all in his head or real?” Something is definitely going on at Jackson’s school. Watching him try to piece the supernatural side together along with the typical high school drama is binge-worthy. Also, Batalla’s art style is marvelous and really draws the reader in. I have quite a few ideas on where this webtoon will go but don’t worry; I won’t spoil anything!
Jackson’s Diary updates every Sunday and can be read here.
