As we head into the busy holiday season, we wanted to share some series to help us relax and enjoy a little slice of life. Our first WEBTOON this week is Moosopp‘s Daybreak. The story follows Marcus, who has a crush, and Cog, who is entirely and wholeheartedly unprepared for the hijinks that ensue. Hopefully, all of their efforts are for naught, and as they grow closer, they can brighten each other’s day.

There is so much to love about Daybreak. It’s such a sweet and wholesome WEBTOON about two people slowly falling in love. It isn’t overly packed with drama as most romance series can be. Plus, what I love most about this series is how diverse it is in such a natural way. Marcus and Cog’s relationship isn’t “forbidden,” and they (so far) haven’t faced any discrimination. And seeing an LGBTQIA+ story where this relationship exists is beautifully wonderful.

Daybreak updates every Wednesday and Sunday and can be read here!

To The Stars and Back

To The Stars and Back WEBTOON Original Series.

Our second slice-of-life series to take our minds off the impending holidays is Peglo‘s To The Stars and Back. We have the introverted and grumpy Kang, who spends the vast majority of his time alone and his very friendly and bubbly neighbor Bo Seon. Kang would rather spend his days alone, but Bo Seon has other plans. Will Kang stick to his solo routine, or will Bo Seon send his life down a very different path?

There is just something so great about a grumpy-sunshine dynamic in a story. Bo Seon’s overly sunshine disposition perfectly contradicts Kang’s grumpy exterior. Each chapter feels like looking through a small window into their life, and similar to Daybreak, this story is slow and sweet. It is the perfect series to destress, relax and pretend like the hectic holiday season is right around the corner.

To The Stars and Back updates every Monday and Thursday and can be read here!
