Today, Deadline has shared that New Line and DC Films announced casting news for Black Adam. Sarah Shahi will be joining Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge and Noah Centineo. Shahi will be playing a university professor and freedom fighter. She is the leader of the resistance in Kahndaq. Information on the story of the Black Adam film has been kept quiet. From the trailer shared during DC Fandom, we know that it will be an origin type film.

We also know that Johnson is playing the title character, Hodge is playing Hawkman and Centineo is Atom-Smasher. Jaume Collet-Serra is on board to direct. Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia are producing with Beau Flynn. Scott Sheldon will serve as an executive producer. Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani are serving as Black Adam‘s writers. This will be the second movie between New Line and DC Films following Shazam!.
It was originally slated to release on December 22, 2021. However, due to other DC films being pushed back Black Adam no longer has a release date.
