Nick Fury is back, baby! Samuel L. Jackson is set to reprise his beloved Marvel role in a new series for Disney +, Variety reports. The show is already in development.

According to Variety, the exact plot of said series is currently under lock and key. Kyle Bradstreet is purportedly attached to write and executive produce. Marvel Studios will also produce, as they do for every Marvel property on Disney +.

Jackson has been a Marvel Cinematic Universe staple since it all began with the post-credits scene in 2008’s Iron Man. He’s appeared in multiple films over the past several years, solidifying himself as an MCU giant. Additionally, Jackson crossed over to television for a few episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fans last saw Fury aboard a Skrull ship in the post-credits scene for Spider-Man: Far From Home

Jackson’s untitled Nick Fury series isn’t the only project brewing at Disney +. WandaVision is slated to premiere later this year. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki will debut, presumably, sometime within the next year. Actress Tatiana Maslany has just been tapped to portray the lead in She-Hulk. In addition to the aforementioned, HawkeyeMoon Knight, and Ms. Marvel are also in development.

Marvel fans the world over have a lot to anticipate on the streaming front. While I’m stoked for the impending shows, Samuel L. Jackson returning to portray Nick Fury might be the best news yet. Could we be privy to an origin story of sorts? Perhaps a show that takes place after the events in Captain Marvel? If that’s the case, I propose we get some Agent Coulson screen time. Any excuse for Clark Gregg to stay in the MCU is a good one.

What do you think of Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role of Nick Fury for a Disney + series? Sound off in the comments below!
