Rutherford Falls season two is just around the corner and it is funnier than ever. Peacock released the trailer for the second season today and there’s so much going on … it’s just … bonker donkers!.

The first season ended on a tiny bit of a cliffhanger when Nathan Rutherford (Ed Helms) found out he’s not a Rutherford. And Reagan Wells (Jana Schmieding)  finally started to gain some support from the Minishonka Nation. Josh Carter (Dustin Milligan) decided to write and publish Nathan’s story, despite Reagan’s disapproval. They broke up because of it. Terry Thomas (Michael Greyeyes) found a way to get his Rolling Lightning project underway while supporting the economic infrastructure of Rutherford Falls. And Bobby Wang (Jesse Leigh) is just as fabulous as ever!

Nathan does return to Rutherford Falls in season two and he’s missed a few things. Bobby turned 18. Rutherford Falls is now a tourist town that focuses on emphasizing the colonial roots of the town; think Disneyland in the 1700s. Josh turned his story into a podcast series that everyone is talking about.

And there are things that never change, like Ms. Fish’s (Beth Stelling) obsession with Nathan. Terry’s stern advice about how to deal with Natives, usually given to Reagan. Nathan always needing Reagan’s help. Big Larry is still in the middle of the road. And Bobby slaying at everything.

What’s new? Dallas Goldtooth as Nelson, Reagan’s new cultural center co-curator. Ketchup versus Mustard fight. Nathan saves a baby. Bobby is dressed a penny (haha!). And so much more that is not in the trailer. Watch the trailer below and get ready for another wild ride with the residents of Rutherford Falls.

“’Rutherford Falls’ is back! Get ready to laugh, cry, and swoon. Do people still swoon? Well, they will now! Ed Helms, Mike Schur, and I had an absolute blast making a show that’s heartfelt, laugh-out-loud funny, and depicts Native Americans in ways you never see on television. Also, a lot of people get punched/kicked in the face. We hope you enjoy Season 2!”  – Sierra Teller Ornelas

Rutherford Falls season two premieres June 16. You can stream Rutherford Falls season one on Peacock.
