Bobby is one point ahead of Feather in the polls. The Firefighters Pancake Breakfast is the next town event. It’s crucial that Bobby outshine Feather. They have to convince the people that they are the better candidate.
Nelson (Dallas Goldtooth) is going to be at the event and Reagan asks Nathan (Ed Helms) to bond with her boyfriend. Reagan has to go with Terry to the event so they can talk business.
Nathan and Bobby arrive at the pancake breakfast. Bobby’s strategy is to compliment the firefighters because they are the real heroes.
Terry tells Reagan that she’s doing a great job with the cultural center. He secured Auntie Ann’s pretzels as a corporate sponsor of the center. They just need a counter in the gift shop and a cart outside. Reagan doesn’t like it.
Nelson and Nathan are struggling to find something to talk about. They watch one of the firefighters talk to the kids. He has giant calves. Nathan starts making fun of him and Nelson is enjoying the commentary. It leads to a conversation about how Native people use controlled burns. Nathan is very interested in hearing more.
Reagan continues to complain about Terry’s corporate sponsor idea. She notices that Terry has a low ponytail and not his signature braid. Something is wrong. He finally tells her that Ye Olde Rutherford Village is bleeding money. They’re only at 40% of their projected income. Even if Bobby wins, without a major influx of cash, they will lose everything.

Bobby is addressing the firefighters when Feather arrives with a cart full of swag. T-shirts, water bottles, and mouse pads that all say, Vote for Feather. Bobby – 0, Feather – 1.
Reagan goes over the numbers and agrees that they are in trouble. Terry is having a hard time finding a solution. It’s so bad, he started drinking Coke Zero. Reagan may have a solution. He gives Terry a gummy bear … a THC gummy bear. She tells him to only eat the head of the bear to help calm the voices in his brain. Reagan takes a whole one.
The conversation between Nathan and Nelson goes to which breeds of dogs would survive as rez dogs. Nathan likes Nelson better than Josh. Nelson says Nathan is actually much better that Josh made him out to be. They both agree that Josh sucks.
Bobby is freaking out. They are nervous because they don’t have swag. Nathan says they don’t need swag, but Bobby is running out of compliments to give to the firefighters. Bobby says the calendars lie. The firehouse is a dump.
Terry is high. He and Reagan are laying in the back of his truck, staring at Terry’s medallion. Reagan calls him TerBear and says people should have a third pair of teeth for their senior lives. All Terry can thinks about is apple fritters, trapped in a plastic case. Reagan says Terry is the fritter and the plastic case is the business. They are no where near being able to drive.
Feather continues to talk and hand out swag. Bobby interrupts and says they don’t need swag. They need an update on their building. The firefighters start talking about what changes they want to see. While Feather doesn’t address their concerns, Bobby promises to improve their quality of life and to always be honest with them. Bobby – 1, Feather – 1.
After they come back to Earth, Terry braids his hair and says this is the most relaxed he’s ever been. Now he can think straight. He suggests that the Minishonka get into the cannabis industry. They can use the same jurisdiction as the smoke shops. There’s just one problem. They don’t have the funds for a startup.
Reagan suggests they talk to Roy Crooks (Migizi Pensoneau). If you recall Terry is not a fan of Roy. Mainly because he’s jealous that Roy is way ahead of the tribal casino game. Plus he’s really pretentious about how much money he spends. Reagan says it’s better than letting down the tribe. Terry says he will think about it.

Nathan and Nelson continue to make fun of the firefighters when one of the guys hears him. Feather uses it to her advantage since Nathan is Bobby’s campaign manager. The other firefighters aren’t too happy about being made fun of. Feather suggests that Nathan do the Devil’s Jump obstacle course. Nathan doesn’t say no, but he clearly doesn’t want to do it.
Terry calls Roy to ask him some questions about getting into the cannabis business. Roy is on a private jet and insists on landing in Rutherford Falls. Terry tries to deter him from coming, but Roy says he can write off the fuel if he talks business. Roy hangs up and Terry grabs a fritter to destress.
Reagan finally arrives at the firehouse just in time to watch Nathan do the Devil’s Jump. Nelson gives him some encouragement, saying the fire is our friend. Nathan has to carry a baby doll through the course. He gets through the course pretty easy, but the last step is jumping through a burning door. He makes it through, but the doll is on fire. The firefighters hose him down with water, causing Nathan to fall on a table. Nathan gets up, but he’s hurt.
One of the fighters, Lou (Jared Farid Ward) saved Nathan’s life and is bandaging him up. Lou says he didn’t think Nathan would go through with the course because the big talkers usually don’t. Nathan says they follow through on their word. Bobby promises to take care of the firehouse needs because some of those guys are hot.
Feather leaves the festivities, trying to give away the last of her swag. Bobby takes a stress ball but puts it back. They say Feather is going to need them more. Feather just smiles and leaves. Bobby for the win.
Terry meets Roy on his plane. It takes a minute, but he actually asks Roy for help. The tribe needs money. Roy agrees to provide him with the money he needs to start the cannabis business. And they will work to come up with an agreeable profit share. Roy likes nation to nation building. He says it’s how he got so rich. He says if they don’t help each other out, who will? Stoodis! Sko!
