The Russo Brothers are no strangers to comics. The duo were the drivers behind many MCU films including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Now Anthony and Joe Russo will be executive producing Slugfest for Quibi, Jeffrey Katzenberg’s new media platform.

Inspired by Reed Tucker’s book Slugfest: Inside the Epic, 50-year Battle Between Marvel and DC, the docu-series will take a look at the long-standing rivalry between the two comic giants.

The Slugfest press release from Quibi stated, “The men and women who were behind the creation of some of the best-known and most revered characters in the world will share their stories and reflect on the symbiotic relationship between DC and Marvel, whose rivalry pushed the medium to its greatest heights. The series features the stories of the remarkable behind-the-scenes endeavors and achievements that defined these industry titans, from the secret crossover inspired by the Halloween parades of small-town Rutland, Vermont, to the history behind the bone-crushing handshake between Superman and Spider-Man, in the first official crossover.”

Slugfest will be directed by Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce. The series has been greenlit so no word on when it will air.

Quibi, was founded by Jeffrey Katzenburg and will offer “quick-bites” of content. All content will come in 10 minutes or less episodes. Quibi launches on April 6, 2020.
