As we learned yesterday, Phil Lord and Chris Miller left the untitled Han Solo film. Over creative differences, the film is now left director-less. However, we now have rumors swirling regarding the director set to take their place. And Ron Howard seems to be the top of the list, according to Deadline.
While they’ve been filming since February, it appears that the creative differences were too much and the duo has been let go. In her statement released yesterday, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy revealed they’d be announcing a new director soon. Deadline believes that director will be Howard.

This is, of course, rumor. So what do we do with rumor? We take it with a pinch of salt. However, a Howard directed Star Wars film would be interesting. He’s been highly successful in his directing career, touching on many different genres. So this could work. Lucasfilm had been offering directing positions to up and coming film-makers. But with filming this late in the game, they should probably hire someone with lots of experience to guide the film to completion. And Howard can fit that bill.
