After the events of Avengers: Endgame, the future of the MCU is a little unclear. We know of sequels in the works but what about new stories and characters? Marvel‘s answer is The Eternals and according to TheWrap, a third actor is in talks to join the film.

Richard Madden (Game of Thrones, Bodyguard) is apparently the latest actor to be attached the film. He joins Angelina Jolie and Kumail Nanjiani in roles for the film, all of which are being safely kept under wraps. What we do know is that the film will focus on the Eternals, a humanoid race of beings created by the Celestials. Known as an “offshoot of the evolutionary process”, they were intended to be powerful defenders of Earth. Unfortunately, they’re locked in a war with their counterparts, the Deviants.

It’s unclear just what role Madden would have in the film but the developing cast is getting exciting. With Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel introducing the MCU to space, The Eternals are sure to bring a brand new layer of cosmic stories to the forefront. It also appears to be laying down the groundwork for our next big bad of the superhero franchise. Is there a Galactus in our future? We’ll have to wait and see.
