What is better than one Resident Evil announcement during the PlayStation State of Play? Two! That’s right, Capcom didn’t stop with just one announcement. Along with a trailer and release date for Resident Evil 4 Remake, they also announced news for their most recent installment. While we aren’t getting a DLC for Resident Evil Village (yet), we are getting to experience the game in a whole new way. And what could be better than VR?

The trailer for Resident Evil Village in VR is just as exciting and terrifying as when the original was announced. And Capcom knew what they were doing. Most of the footage used comes from the time spent in Lady Dimitrescu’s castle. And really, who wouldn’t want to go back and spend hours exploring that place? But her castle isn’t even a vast majority of the whole game, and we are excited to see what the rest will look like. Except for the basement of Donna’s home. That place still terrifies us.
The PSVR2 system is still currently in development. But, they were excited to share that Resident Evil Village will be using the platform’s 4K HDR display, eye tracking and 3D audio for the VR port. Additionally, players will be able to use the Sense controllers as hands in-game, allowing them to pick up things and use weapons directly. We suggest having extra room in case you decide to take off running.
Hopefully, as more news on the PSVR2 system comes out, we will get a release date for Resident Evil Village VR. But until then, we will be going back to enjoy this tale the old-fashioned way.
