Milla Jovovich stars in Screen Gems' RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER.

We barely hit the halfway point in the year and new trailers for 2017 started to appear out of the wild.  Now we have posters and trailer for the last installment of the Resident Evil movie franchise, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

The trailer promises that this is really, for real, the final installment in the video game movie series.  Staring Milla Jovovich, as Alice, an Umbrella created human hybrid clone or something (it gets very unclear in later movies exactly what she is) goes back to where it all began, Raccoon City.

I want to make one thing clear, these movies are not good, but they are a ridiculously good time which is why the franchise has survived as long as it has.  I adore these movies and see each one in the theater because you just have to.  As a bonus Milla is a fantastic action star, I wish we could have seen her in other action movies, even as part of the MCU.  However, she has helmed her own series for years now and it’s served her well.

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began – The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter lurches into theaters January 27, 2017.
