Fans of the Resident Evil franchise received amazing news during Playstation‘s State of Play today. The long awaited, and recently leaked, Resident Evil 3 has been announced! Thanks to the terrific response the community had to the Resident Evil 2 remake, it gave Capcom confidence. While others might not enjoy the idea of remaking these classics, I am here for it. Being able to enjoy games that I loved as a child but with better graphics, voice acting, and mechanics is a dream.

Resident Evil 3 will follow one of the most iconic heroines in video game history, Jill Valentine, as she escapes a crumbling Raccoon City. The game also features one of the most tormenting villains ever, Nemesis. Prepare to be chased while experience intense combat scenarios and puzzle solving. This is all brought to life on Capcom’s RE Engine, used to bring Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard to life. This will bring us high definition graphics and modernized gameplay mechanics.

After you finish the single player mode for Resident Evil 3 (or before, don’t let anyone tell you how to enjoy your gaming) you can enjoy the online 4 vs 1 survival game, Resident Evil Resistance previously named Project Resistance. One player will take on the role of Mastermind, wreaking havoc from his control room. The other four players will be players investigating the seemingly abandoned Umbrella Corp warehouse before learning that this will be a fight for their lives.

Resident Evil 3 is set to release on April 3, 2020 for PC through Steam, PS4 and Xbox One. Console players in North America can also purchase a special collectors edition that will feature a high quality Jill Valentine statue, printed artbook, a Raccoon City map wallpaper, the digital soundtrack, and physical copy of the game. Those who preorder will also receive the exclusive classic costume set featuring Carlos’ original hairstyle and the original design for Jill.

The trailer for Resident Evil 3 can be found here.
