10 Out-of-This-World Predictions for RESIDENT ALIEN Season 4

Resident Alien Season 3 bowed out with a handful of cliffhangers, making the wait for SYFY to renew the beloved sci-fi comedy even more excruciating and arduous. I’d argue it’s the show’s most open-ended finale yet. While it is some bullsh*t that we have to wait for that coveted Season 4 greenlight, in the meantime, I’ve compiled a list of 10 predictions regarding what lies ahead for our titular extraterrestrial and the Patience gang.

Liv Will Help Peter Find His Son

Deputy Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) and Peter Bach (Terry O’Quinn), who’s in his Iron Man/Terminator phase, reunite on Resident Alien‘s Season 3 finale, “Homecoming.” This puts the murder investigation to bed. However, Peter’s son, Robert Hutchins (Paul Piaskowski), is still imprisoned on The Greys’ Moon base after helping fake Harry (Alan Tudyk), Asta (Sara Tomko), D’Arcy (Alice Wetterlund) and Baby Hawthorne escape.

I predict Peter will enlist Liv’s aid in tracking his son. This will lead them to The Greys, and Liv will see her first bona fide alien. Whether she discovers Harry’s true nature remains to be seen. I feel like not everyone in Patience needs to know his alien identity.

Kate and Ben Will Learn About Max’s Ability to See Aliens

So far, Kate (Meredith Garretson) and Ben (Levi Fiehler) know nothing about Max’s (Judah Prehn) ability to see aliens despite their numerous abductions. Remember in Season 1 when they dismissed his claim that Harry was an alien? Now that they’re aware of their respective abductions, they’ll catch on to Max’s unique talents.

Now, this could out Harry as an extraterrestrial, but I think the show could cleverly avoid that by using the Mantid to assume someone else’s identity with his parents as a witness.

Asta Will Discover the Identity of Her Biological Father

Asta’s sh*tty mother, Mary-Ellen Taylor (Karina Logue), stops by Patience for a spell in Season 3. Of course, she doesn’t want to connect with her biological daughter; instead, she has her sights set on something material. While there, Mary-Ellen mentions a desk owned by Asta’s biological father.

No one can replace Dan (Gary Farmer)—and we should protect this precious man at all costs—but I predict Asta will fall down the genealogical rabbit hole in Season 4. This journey could take Asta to unexpected places.

I’ve seen some folks theorize that Asta’s father could be an alien. However, that feels too easy. It might be something more innocuous (or sinister) than that.

General McCallister Winds Up on The Greys’ Moon Base

On the season finale, General McCallister (Linda Hamilton) utilizes Joseph’s (Enver Gjokaj) portal device. Unfortunately, we don’t see where she lands, but it’s safe to assume she arrives at The Greys’ base. She might play a role in rescuing our Harry, or the aliens could capture her, too.

Plus, there’s the Joseph aspect of the McCallister equation. Since Peter Bach escaped, could he become her next toy? Or will she let him go free?

Joseph Will Stick Around in Patience

Speaking of ole Joey, Joseph will stick around in Patience. I can picture him forging his own path to redemption, learning to embrace his human side as a hybrid. Perhaps Asta will uphold her end of the bargain and go on a legitimate date with him. After all, he was instrumental in thwarting The Greys’ plan to erupt the Yellowstone caldera.

Admittedly, I think he and Asta would be cute together. Gjokaj is also hilarious in his scenes with Tudyk. And, less importantly (or more, depending on your priorities), he sure is easy on the eyes.

Harry Will Reunite With His Love

Harry and Heather (Edi Patterson) 4eva. Our resident alien will discover why Heather left him in Season 3. This could throw a wrench in the potentially burgeoning friendship between him and Joseph, but maybe this is part of the latter’s redemption arc.

Anyway, Heather will return to Patience to rekindle her fiery, uber-spicy romance with Harry. Yes, this includes more sex in Asta’s car and sloppily making out in front of friends at the dinner table. She can also offer a maternal touch to Harry’s childrearing. Bridget, meet your stepmom.

D’Arcy Will Do Everything She Can to Protect Baby Hawthorne

D’Arcy (Alice Wetterlund) has a pivotal hero moment in Season 3 when she rescues the Hawthornes’ baby. Much of her Resident Alien arc has been about finding her purpose. Like Asta, she, too, feels like a misfit, navigating the choppy waters of feeling perpetually stuck. How painfully relatable.

In Season 3, she tries to protect Ben and Kate from abduction. Season 4 could see her doing the same for Baby Hawthorne. D’Arcy (I’m keeping the big “A” for continuity purposes) forges a connection with the child and feels that compulsion to be her protector. I can also envision her clarifying her purpose in Season 4 (and that might not necessarily involve motherhood, but being a guardian of sorts).

Mike Will Try to Deny What He Saw But Will Eventually Believe

Sheriff Mike (Corey Reynolds) stumbles upon a Grey alien at an abandoned high school. He punches first and asks questions later. It’s been established that Mike believes in just about everything (conspiracies and all) but aliens. I predict he’ll resist entertaining the idea that he saw an alien until he slowly but surely becomes a believer. The mounting evidence will become undeniable. I can also see him attempting to conceal his alien encounter from Liv and Lena (Nicola Correia-Damude).

Asta and D’Arcy Will Save the Real Harry and Bridget

Max and Sahar (Gracelyn Awad Rinke) encounter Mantid Harry in the final moments of Season 3. The Mantid might attempt to make them his next victims. They could go MIA for a spell until they escape their captor. Then, they tell Asta and D’Arcy that the Mantid is masquerading as Harry. That’ll spur our heroes to return to The Greys’ Moon base to rescue Harry and Bridget (maybe McCallister, too). Pretty straightforward.

The Mantid Will Cause Trouble, Alerting Liv and Mike

Mike and Liv might have more murder cases on their hands if the Mantid has anything to say about it. Harry won’t be the only person the Mantid impersonates. We could see him assume the identities of various townsfolk while leaving a trail of bodies in his wake.

I can picture them discovering an alien is behind all the murderous madness by the Season 4 finale (which coincides with Mike’s resigning to the idea that aliens are real). They thought the Peter Bach case was a handful? Ha! The Mantid will give that investigation a run for its money.
