Residents of Patience, Colorado, we’re about to get a new visitor soon! TVLine unveiled exclusive Resident Alien Season Two images, and Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) will be joining in on the fun! The outlet disclosed more Season Two info as well.
According to TVLine, Borstein portrays Carlyn, “Kate Hawthorne’s cousin from out of town. The ‘frizzy-haired, right-brained laser physicist has a great job working in a tech lab, though her love life is borderline non-existent. But when she rolls through Patience to visit her family and do some sightseeing, Carlyn homes in on someone strange: good ol’ Harry V.”

Series creator Chris Sheridan, who produces Family Guy where Borstein stars, teases that Carlyn possesses similar mannerisms to Harry, and they go on a date together. He tells TVLine this regarding Alan Tudyk and Borstein’s innate chemistry:
Watching her and Alan [Tudyk] together was very magical. A lot of fun, a lot of improv, ad-libbing … I’ve known Alex for 20 years now, and I’m always amazed at how incredibly talented she is, in every way. She hit it out of the park.
In addition, Borstein could return in the latter half of Season Two or the future.
TVLine reveals Linda Hamilton and Terry O’Quinn are slated to reappear in Resident Alien‘s second season. But that’s not all! Tudyk’s Firefly costar, Nathan Fillion, will also return to voice the octopus from Harry’s weed-infused trip.
Oh, and Harry and his best bud Asta (Sara Tomko) embark on an expedition to NYC, searching for another alien from his homeworld.
I don’t know about you, but I’m so tickled to have Alex Borstein on board for the show’s sophomore outing. She’s a fantastic comedic talent, and pairing her with Tudyk will make for a magical experience.
