Reservation Dogs

The highly acclaimed Reservation Dogs is returning for its third and final season soon. The first trailer for season three dropped on Thursday. The path to self discovery is lined with choices for Bear ( D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai), Elora Danan (Devery Jacobs), Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis), Cheese (Lane Factor) and all of their friends. The Aunties too.

The four best friends ended season two in California, fulfilling a promise they made after their friend Daniel (Dalton Cramer) died. Bear also made the decision NOT to return to Oklahoma. Even after losing their car and all of their money. Bear struggled through season two, mainly with trying to figure out his purpose in life. I mean, what teenage kid doesn’t know what or who they want to be. And that seems to be the focal point of the trailer.

You’ll see in the trailer that the kids go back to Oklahoma, to some very worried parents. So naturally, they are in trouble. But only three of them actually return to Okern. Bear takes a detour with his friendly Spirit (Dallas Goldtooth) that leads him to conspiracy theorist Maximus, played by Graham Greene. Bear forms a bond with Maximus and maybe even gets some guidance from an old warrior … one that is alive.

The others are on new paths as well. Cheese is happy where he is, but he’s young. I’m sure he’ll need to figure some things out soon. Willie Jack  asks Old Man Fixico (Richard Ray Whitman) to teach her about medicine. Elora Danan is thinking about going back to school. She asks for her medical records and appears to find out some interesting information she didn’t know about herself. And Rita (Sarah Podemski) is the best mom she can be, but Bear’s absence has to hurt. She gets some guidance from her own spirit, Elora Danan’s mom Cookie (Janae Collins). Looks like there will be another Auntie episode. (YAY!)

Reservation Dogs also stars Zahn McClarnon, Elva Guerra, Jude BarnettXavier Bigpond, Jack Maricle, Gary Farmer, Kaniehtiio Horn, Jon Proudstar, Jana Schmieding, Lil Mike, and Funny Bone. The series is executive produced by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi along with Garrett Basch. Watch the trailer below.
