The Hollywood Reporter dropped news today for the upcoming fantasy film Dungeons & Dragons and my little nerd heart couldn’t be happier. Everyone’s favorite Duke from the popular Netflix series Bridgerton, Regé–Jean Page, has joined the cast! He landed the deal with Paramount for a leading role in the upcoming film. He will appear alongside Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith.

Paramount has kept the details of Dungeons & Dragons under wraps so far, but hopefully, as they flush out casting, we will get more details. Because we really need more details right now! We know that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will write the script from a draft by Michael Gilio. The film is based on the highly popular TTRPG (tabletop role-playing game) of the same name created and released in 1974 by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson.
Page is joining the film hot off the heels of Netflix’s most popular series to date. I know they haven’t released who he will be playing but hear me out. This man needs to be some type of royalty in Dungeons and Dragons. Maybe a Duke (because he plays the role so well) who has decided to step away from his responsibilities and take up the life of an adventurer. He is fantastic in a fight and with a gun. Plus he knows how to charm his way through anything. But in all seriousness, I can’t wait to see what kind of role he will be portraying in the upcoming film.
Dungeons and Dragons is set to start filming later this year in Belfast. What do you think about the Duke joining the movie? What kind of role do you think he will play? Sound off in the comments below and on social media!
