The story follows Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and his long-running feud with Britain’s Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitizine). When a disastrous, public altercation reaches the tabloids at the worst possible time for US/British relations, everyone must enter damage-control mode. Their families and staff force Alex and Henry into a staged truce to hide their rivalry from the media. But as their relationship unexpectedly turns into a friendship, their friction changes to something deeper than they ever expected.
Red, White and Royal Blue also features Sarah Shahi, Stephen Fry, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn and Akshay Khanna, among others. Tony-winning playwright Matthew López co-wrote the film, which is also his directorial debut. In conversation with Glamour, López stated his movie “is an adaptation, not a recitation. I like to think that, as a fan of the novel, I was able to find the balance of serving Casey’s story while also serving the needs of the movie.”

The new images from the film focus on a key moment from the book in which Alex and Henry have a fateful collision with each other over a massive cake. Another depicts the two sharing a private moment, while the rest feature additional characters from the project.
Red, White and Royal Blue heads to Prime Video on August 11, 2023. What part of the book are you most excited to see onscreen? Check out the first look now, then let us know below!
