Disney dropped a second full-length trailer for Raya and the Last Dragon on Tuesday! But that’s not all. We’ve got the scoop per Entertainment Weekly regarding the supporting cast beyond stars Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina!
So, let’s start with the rest of the players. Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange) voices the intimidating giant Tong. Raya chooses Tong to join her on her quest to pinpoint the last dragon. Alan Tudyk (Resident Alien), who’s literally in everything nowadays, lends his voice to Tuk Tuk, Raya’s trusty steed. Daniel Dae Kim (Hawaii Five-0) voices Raya’s father Benja. Gemma Chan (Humans) lends her vocals to Raya’s nemesis, Namaari. Lastly, Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) gives her voice to the role of Virana, Namaari’s mother.
Now, the latest Raya and the Last Dragon trailer opens with our titular heroine finding a seemingly lost baby in Talon. However, said baby, whose name is Little Noi, is actually a “con baby” that kicks all the butt. Raya picks Little Noi to accompany her on her journey. We see the factions of Kumandra bickering with each other. Raya facing off against her enemy, Namaari. And, of course, our hero finally locating Sisu (Awkwafina), the last dragon. However, Sisu is not quite what Raya imagined.
Raya and the Last Dragon‘s second trailer is rife with action, stunning visuals and wisecracks aplenty. Not to mention, the supporting cast is top-notch. This Disney film opens doors for more Southeast Asian representation, and it’s making a positive impact on the fight for more diversity in entertainment.
