The holidays are upon us. Not only do board games make great gifts, but they are also a fun way to spend time with friends and family. Ravensburger and ThinkFun make high-quality games that bring everyone together and encourage you to use your noggins. This list features some of my favorite games and is just a small taste of what Ravensburger and ThinkFun offer.

Ravensburger and ThinkFun Gift Guide

Ravensburger has been making people smile with top-quality puzzles since 1891, but did you know they also make some of the best board games out there? While I highly suggest you check out their massive puzzle selection, let me show you some of my favorites from their board game collection.

Disney Villainous: Sugar and Spite

The Disney Villainous board games from Ravensburger are some of my absolute favorites on our shelf. In Disney Villainous: Sugar and Spite, take on the role of your favorite Disney villain and do whatever it takes to complete your evil scheme. The base game comes with six classic villains, including Maleficent, Ursula and more. There are also several expansions, each introducing even more playable perpetrators. These expansions are great because they are affordable and can be played with any other Villainous game, allowing for even more variety. Some expansions even offer a standalone gameplay experience.

Some of the latest to join the roster of rotten are King Candy from Wreck-It Ralph and Shere Khan from The Jungle Book. Cross the finish line as King Candy while Vanellope Von Schweets glitches out. Or play as Shere Khan, who must defeat Mowgli while steering clear of fire. Play with two players out of the box or mix it with other Villainous titles for a larger group. Recommended for players 10 and up, this is the type of game that will entertain everyone from kiddos to serious board gamers.

Disney Villainous: Sugar and Spite is now available and retails for $19.99. Check your local game store or get it here from the Ravensburger website

Horrified: World of Monsters

The Horrified games are also some of my favorite board games and also happen to be filled with baddies. However, this time, play with your friends as heroes and work together to defeat monsters. Vanquish everything from the Universal Monsters to Greek Monstrosities.

Horrified: World of Monsters is the newest addition to the Horrified series and includes Sphinx, Yeti, Jiangshi and Cthulhu. A mysterious doorway has opened and has allowed some truly terrifying beings to enter our world. Use your monster expertise and a lot of courage to work together and save the day. World of Monsters includes a lair mechanic and the series’ first multi-phase challenge. If you get lucky enough to defeat the mighty Cthulhu, can you seal him away?

Use different monster combinations for a new experience every time; you can also combine World of Monsters with Greek Monsters for even more ways to play. Expect nothing less than Ravensburger’s high-quality features, such as detailed miniatures and gorgeous artwork. Recommended for one to five players ages 10 and up, Horrified: World of Monsters is a scream come true for those who aren’t afraid of the bumps in the night.

Horrified: World of Monsters is now available and retails for $29.99. Check your local game store or get it here at the Ravensburger website.

Math Path Monster

Math Path Monster is a cooperative board game for two to four players ages six and up. Play as explorers who have discovered the cave of the Magic Math Monster and must find a way out. Use your arithmetic skills and work together to race through the cave before the Math Monster catches you. Magic Path Monster helps bolster math skills while encouraging teamwork and collaboration. This game is the perfect blend of entertaining and stimulating fun for the whole family.

This is a great choice for any young ones just starting to learn basic math or those who may need a little extra help understanding. Sometimes, young minds need something more tactile or engaging to understand math concepts, and Math Path Monster offers just that. And for the parents playing with their kiddos, it never hurts to brush up on your math skills.

Crash Cats

Crash Cats is a spring-loaded one-player logic game for ages eight and up. Load up the grid with furniture and cats according to the selected challenge, then tilt the board to move the cats vertically and horizontally. If a cat hits a piece of furniture nose first, it will fly off the board. Your goal is to keep the cat with the red helmet on the board while ousting all the others. Use logic and maybe some trial and error to solve the puzzle.

The guidebook includes 40 challenges from beginner to expert so there is a puzzle suitable for everyone. Crash Cats is an easy-to-learn but difficult-to-master tactile game and a fun way to get you thinking outside the box.
