THE RAID Director Gareth Evans in Talks For Deathstroke Film

Did you know we were getting a Deathstroke film? I didn’t! According to The Hollywood Reporter, not only is the project in the minds of DC, but we even have a director in talks. Gareth Evans, most known for the Indonesian martial arts film The Raid, is circling the project to direct. Could it get any better than that?

Back in August of 2016, we had seen Joe Manganiello suited up as the infamous assassin for the solo Batman film. But since star Ben Affleck stepped down as director and Matt Reeves stepped in, Manganiello’s role has been in limbo. Not even the actor knows if he’s going to be in the film. But it appears DC saw fans excitement of seeing a live-action Deathstroke in the film universe that they’re trying to give him his own film.

Frankly, I think Evans would be the perfect fit. Deathstroke is a master assassin, excelling in all fighting styles. So we need a director with a keen eye for action scenes. And if you’ve ever seen The Raid, you know Evans has the eye for exciting action scenes. The film has garnered nothing but praise. So I’d really love to see Evans take the helm.

What do you think of getting a Deathstroke film? Do you want to see Evans take the role of director? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more DC movie news! The film has no release date.
