Rachel McAdams Will Return for DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

Rachel McAdams and Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange.

Deadline dropped some pretty exciting casting news for Marvel‘s upcoming Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness today. After months of speculation, Deadline has exclusive news that Rachel McAdams will be reprising her role in the film. In the original film, she plays emergency surgeon and Strange’s ex Christine Palmer. She is Strange’s lynchpin to his previous life before he takes on the role of superhero sorcerer. In the Marvel comics, the character is also known as the hero Night Nurse, though the original film doesn’t have that storyline. Well, it doesn’t have that storyline yet.

With Adams’s return to Doctor Stranger In The Multiverse of Madness, we have a chance to see her take on the role of Night Nurse possibly. Or she will be there for moral support. Regardless we are excited to see her return in any capacity. Marvel has yet to comment on Adams’s return nor where she fits into the new film’s storyline. Benedict Cumberbatch will be reprising his role as Dr. Strange alongside Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen and Xochitl Gomez. Sam Raimi will be directing and Scott Derrickson will be serving as executive producer.

Filming for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness begins once Cumberbatch is done filming Spider-Man 3. It is set to hit theaters on March 25, 2022. Let us know how excited you are to see Adams reprise her role in the new film!
