Janine Teagues and Gregory Eddie are getting animated. As reported by Deadline, Abbott Elementary stars Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams will lend their voices to Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special, the highly anticipated special episode of the DC adult animated comedy.
Who will Brunson and Williams bring to life on the animation front? None other than DC characters Hawkgirl and Hawkman. According to Deadline, Hawkman and Hawkgirl briefly cameo in the Harley Quinn outing, explaining how they fell in love. Granine shippers, gird your loins. We’ll feast on Granine-adjacent crumbs for this episode after watching Abbott Elementary‘s Valentine’s Day outing this week. The timing couldn’t be more perfect (or potentially excruciating, given the outcome of said outing).

Here’s the synopsis for the Valentine’s Day special:
“As Harley goes to obsessive lengths to ensure that her first Valentine’s Day with Ivy is the best ever, Bane’s efforts to impress an unexpected date go horribly awry. Meanwhile, after an unfortunate online dating encounter, Clayface engages in some self-love.”
Brunson had this to say regarding her voice cameo on the show:
“As a Harley Quinn fan, I’m thrilled to lend my voice to the special and to team up with my Abbott Elementary creative partners, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker and co-star Tyler James Williams for this fun episode.”
Williams added his two cents:
“Harley Quinn is such a brilliant series, and it is an honor to lend my voice to this special. I think the cameo is something both Abbott Elementary and DC fans will enjoy.”

HBO Max gave the green light for a fourth season of Harley Quinn in August 2022. Sarah Peters will take up the showrunner mantle from Halpern and Schumacker, who created the series. Halpern and Schumacker are also executive producers for Abbott Elementary.
Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special stars Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Matt Oberg and James Adomian. Get in the mood for love when the episode streams on Thursday, February 9, 2023, on HBO Max.
