Netflix’s second season of Bridgerton is here and gone in the snap of a fan and a well-placed remark. The tension between Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley) was so thick we could cut it with a knife. And thankfully, by the end, our leads found their happily ever after. But in those eight episodes, we were introduced to enough scandal, new and old, that would make even Lady Whistledown’s (voiced by Julie Andrews) pen flutter. And of course, after everything we have been treated to this season, we have questions that still need to be answered. So let’s dive into what we want to see and answered in season three!

Clearly, there will be spoilers ahead, so if you haven’t gotten a chance to experience the scandal, mystery and romance, what are you waiting for? Check out the series here!

Will Benedict find his happiness?

As long as Netflix, Shondaland and Chris Van Dusen continue to follow the same pattern, we can expect that season three will follow the events of Julia Quinn‘s An Offer from a Gentleman. This story focuses on our favorite second son and artist, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his love interest Sophie. We haven’t received a casting announcement for Sophie, but we expect to hear something soon. The story is a Cinderella re-telling with fun twists and turns that will surely have us on the edge of our seats.

And like we have shared before, this series is more about the journey rather than how it will end. We know that Benedict and Sophie are end game, but how do they get there? In both seasons one and two of Bridgerton, Benedict struggles heavily with imposter syndrome as he tries to find his place in the world. He doesn’t need to run his family, but does he belong in the art world? We hope he won’t have to struggle too much next season before finding his happily ever after.

What will happen between Eloise and Penelope?

At the end of season one, we wondered what would happen if Eloise (Claudia Jessie) found out about Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) secret. And she did, in the worst way possible. Not only has Penelope been lying this entire time, but she tore Eloise down in the pamphlet. And we know she was trying to protect her. But why not protect Eloise by being honest with her? She has countless times to come forward.

Season two ends with their friendship in ruins. But, will it stay that way? Will we get the chance to see the two of them work through everything in season three? Will Eloise keep Penelope’s secret? It’s heartbreaking to see these two friends suffering, but it was inevitable. We hope for a happier season for both of them when Bridgerton returns.

What is next for Lady Whistledown?

Speaking of Penelope and her Lady Whistledown business, what is next? After dragging Eloise’s name through the dirt, she was ready to give it all up. But, it seems after their falling out and Colin’s (Luke Newton) declaration that he would never court her, she has picked the pen back up. Is she going to double down and report the ton’s gossip for the world to see? Or is she going to try to be better? Prove to Eloise that she can talk about things that matter?

And where will this leave her with the Queen (Golda Rosheuvel)? We know just how much she needs Lady Whistledown after the mysterious writer disappeared. Will she continue to try and uncover her? Or will she take Lady Danbury’s (Adjoa Andoh) advice and find a new hobby? Maybe she can focus on setting up Edwina (Charithra Chandran) with that lovely nephew of hers.

What is next for Colin?

One of the shining moments in season two was the work put in to set up Benedict for the third season. So, it is expected that season three will do the same for Colin. Similar to Benedict, he is lost in this big world. He doesn’t have the pressure to lead a family or Benedict’s artistic talents (as we have seen so far). So what is in the cards for him? He seemed pretty comfortable uncovering Lord Featherington’s (Rupert Young) scheme.

Now, he might not be the next Sherlock Holmes, but he does seem to have a sense for investments and to do his due diligence. The ton is known for their business investment and maybe, just maybe, this is where Colin will find his way in the world. Regardless of what he does, will it bring him closer or farther from his happily ever after? Let’s hope for the sake of all the Polin fans out there that it does.

Where is Franchesca?!

This seems to be more of a running gag now. Within Quinn’s novels, we see quite a bit of each sibling of the Bridgerton household, except for Franchesca (Ruby Stokes). She does appear from time to time, but she is gone just as much. Her novel, which I won’t spoil here, explains quite a bit about her absence. But what got to me while watching season two of the series is that she would appear in one shot and be gone in the next. For example, she is there to greet Daphne (Pheobe Dynevor) at Aubrey Hall but gone by the time the Sharmas arrive.

Will we be seeing more of her in season three? Now that both Daphne and Anthony are happily married and the focus is shifting to Benedict, will we start to see more of her? We love Stokes in the role and would love to see more of her. We also want to see her interactions with the other siblings as well. She is close in age to Eloise (in the novels) and it would make sense if she made her way out in Benedict’s season.

More Featherington scandals?

It seems that Lady Portia (Polly Walker) and her girls can’t seem to stay away from scandal. This season was all about Lord Featherington’s mysterious mines in the Americas. And while it looks like she was able to pin everything on him and send him packing, how long can Lady Portia’s luck hold out? Is this the last we have seen of cousin Jack? Or will he return to London to exact his revenge?

And because we know they can’t avoid scandal, what one will they face in season three? Lady Portia has enough money for the family to get by, but it is enough? She has had the taste of somewhat success, but is she willing to risk everything for the ton’s attention? And how will the rest of society look at her after Lord Featheringon’s ruse? Will they comfort the victims or see her as an accomplice?

When will it be here?

Our final question, and the one on everyone’s mind, is when will season three of Bridgerton be here! We waited for a little over a year to fall back into the scandalous world of the ton. Hopefully, they are diving right in since they have already had season three (and four) greenlit. We cant wait to see just what kind of trouble the Bridgertons and the rest of the ton can find themselves in this time!
