The second season of Amazon Prime Video and Critical Role‘s The Legend of Vox Machina has come and gone in a flash. And what an epic flash it was. The season is packed with laughs, tears and adventure. And we can’t forget all of Scanlan’s (voiced by Sam Riegel) epic music tracks. The story mainly focused on introducing the terrifying Chroma Conclave and the group’s mission to collect a few Vestiages of Divergence. We know that a third season is in the works and will most likely tell the second half of this epic story, but we have some time before it’s here. So, in the meantime, we have eight questions we need them to answer when it airs.

DISCLIAMER: We are heading into spoiler territory, friends. If you haven’t had the chance to catch up on the second season of The Legend of Vox Machina, we suggest bookmarking this post and coming back afterwards. You can find all 12 episodes here on Amazon Prime Video. We also know that some of these questions can be answered by watching the campaign, but for those who are still behind – please, no spoilers!

What is going through Scanlan’s head?

Our favorite bard has been on quite the emotional journey throughout season two of The Legend of Vox Machina. He is definitely the jokester of the group and, even in the beginning, doesn’t want to risk his life. Not because he is selfish but more because he doesn’t have faith they can win. But his view changes quite a bit throughout the season, including learning that Kaylie (voiced by ***) is his daughter. And what a surprise it was. By the end of the season, he looks as if he is ready save the world against Thordack (voiced by Lance Reddick). But what is really going through his head?

Vax but with wings?

Speaking of emotional journeys, we can’t ignore Vax’s (voiced by Liam O’Brien) deal to save Vex’s (voiced by Laura Bailey) life. It’s a massive toll that we aren’t even sure he completely understands. But, it seems like right now, he is completely on board with what the Matron of Ravens is looking for. But where will this new direction take him? And what role does the champion play in the grander scheme of fate? Will this change his relationship with the others and their cause? Will Pike (voiced by Ashley Johnson) help with forming a bond with a Patron? And will we get to see more of those sweet raven wings?

Where will Keyleth’s journey take her?

This season of The Legend of Vox Machina gave us one of our favorite episodes that focused on Keyleth (voiced by Marisha Ray). Her journey is one of our favorites from the live campaign. She is struggling to find her feet in this world and be a good leader for her people. And that comes at a major cost to our favorite druid. But, with her completing the fire portion and getting to be a big fire elemental, she is on the right track. But will she have the strength to continue it? And what happens if her path takes her away from the rest of her companions? What will her choice be?

Born Again – Vex Lives

The Legend of Vox Machina is a series that understands how to use cliffhangers. Like dropping the first three episodes and ending the third one with Vex’s death. Waiting an entire week to learn that she lives was terrifying. But dying and coming back to life isn’t easy on even. And Vex has her own struggles that she is dealing with – in a very mature way if you ask her. But we have a feeling that there will be some fallout once her mind catches up to what happened. Is she going to be able to continue the fight against the Chroma Conclave? And outside of that, how will she deal with her relationship with her father (voiced by Troy Baker)?

Ripley’s Up to What?

A big surprise in this season was the return of Ripley (voiced by Kelly Hu). The last time we saw her, she was making Percy’s (voiced by Taliesin Jaffe) life harder than needed and causing trouble in Whitestone. Now it looks like she is trying to throw her lot in with the dragons. But what will happen now that Umbarsyl (voiced by Matthew Mercer) is dead? Is she going to try to wiggle her way into another dragon’s good graces? Or will she find someone else to help her fulfil her evil plans? And what are those evil plans?

Thordack’s big plans?

Now, the big bad of The Legend of Vox Machina‘s second season is the Chroma Conclave led by Thordack. And other than just setting fire to towns, killing a ton of people and taking all their gold, we don’t actually know much about their goal. Could he be like every other dragon and just want gold? Or is there something far worse happening here? Hopefully, season two will give us a better idea of what we can expect from the big bad fire dragon. Is he working for himself? Or someone else? And what about the other dragons? What is going to happen next season?

What’s Raishan’s deal?

At the end of this season, Raishan (voiced by Cree Summer) dropped a major bomb on Vox Machina – she wants to help. It seems this dragon isn’t too fond of following the others, but why go against Thordack? What does she know that we don’t? Is there something more terrifying than Thordack waiting in the wings? Or is this a case of hoping Vox Machina is able to take him out so Raishan can step into his place? We don’t trust her, and you shouldn’t either.

Does Grog’s Axe talk to him?

Poor Grog (voiced by Travis Willingham) really got the short end of the sword this season. Between getting beaten up constantly and accidently stabbing Pike in a fit of rage, he’s had it rough. But it looks like he is on the up and up. Now we know that the axe isn’t talking to him – yet. But the real question is what kind of trouble is Grog going to get into when The Legend of Vox Machina returns for its third season? And honestly, who cares what it’s going to be. When Grog is involved, it’s going to be a great time.
