As if they didn’t know how much the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise terrifies me, a brand new trailer was released during the PS5 Showcase this past week. The newest title, Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach from Steelwool Studios, has everything that scares us. Fazbear Entertainment is on the rise, and they are bringing families only the best in animatronic entertainment. Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizza Plex is a three-story building busting at the seems with everything a kid could want. Freddy has even gotten the band back together just for the occasion!

Now, of course this is the safest pizzeria in the world. Or is it? The FNAF Security Breach trailer might just prove that claim wrong. It opens as Vannie, an evil animatronic, is calling out to a boy, Gregory. It sounds as if he was at his birthday party and Vannie got angry and scared him into hiding at Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizza Plex. During this little monologue we get a look at the vast world we will get to experience. There isn’t anything concrete on whether this will be open world, but even just being able to play within the Pizza Plex would be worth it.

The FNAF Security Breach trailer comes to a close as Vannie makes her first appearance in game. She jumps out of the shadows with her glowering red eyes. And in turn, my 30-year-old self jumped out of my seat. The trailer really hit the mark. It proves this new installment will be just as terrifying as the previous ones. We are still in the dark surrounding the game’s overall story and gameplay mechanics, but they have time. Steelwool Studios promises to have more information on their website soon.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but will be available on PC and the PlayStation 5.
