During PlayStation‘s Future of Gaming Digital event yesterday, Microids and PlayMagic dropped the very first trailer for the XIII remake. The cel-shaded first-person shooter originally released in November 2003 and has become a cult classic. The team worked hard to remain faithful to the material while also updating it to please the most sophisticated of gamers. The trailer showed off the artistic direction and thankfully it features the iconic cel-shading technique we know and love. They even went as far as to remaster the original game soundtrack and voice actors.
Players will yet again take control of XIII, the man with no identity, as he uses his special set of skills to uncover one major conspiracy. The trailer doesn’t hold back when it comes to showing off the action as it flips through different gameplay scenes. The energy of the trailer just helps hype the excitement we are all feeling. XIII will feature an intense solo campaign as well as multiplayer matches with friends. We are sure we will hear more about how the multiplayer aspect will work over the upcoming months.
Preorders for XIII will be available starting soon. Those who invest in the Limited Edition will get a copy of the game, a two-sided metal case, three art cards, and 13 in-game weapon skins. The Golden Classic Weapon Skins Pack will be a preorder item with any edition of the game at participating retailers.
