The Flash returns next week and it’s time for some answers! Before the big crossover, it was revealed that Nora West Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) was working with Reverse Flash Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) in the future. But to what end?
Since Nora arrived in Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) current timeline, she has been a bit of a mystery. Barry and Iris (Candice Patton) are interested in getting to know their daughter than finding out the reason why she’s there. As we have learned from previous seasons, messing with the time line produces some dire consequences.
What does Thawne get out of this? His objective is to get back to his timeline in the future. Could he be saving Barry to make that happen? Of course he’s only using Nora, so he will tell her whatever she wants to hear to save her father. After everything Nora learned about the Flash in the Flash museum, you’d think she’d know not to trust Thawne.
In the promo for the mid-season premiere of The Flash, Thawne reminds Nora of everything he has done for her. He helped her return to the past to meet Barry. XS got to run with the Flash. He says her legacy is a broken family. At one point in the trailer, Nora puts Barry in the pipeline where his powers are dampened. Essentially, Nora is trying to save Barry. And it looks like she will risk everything.
Watch the trailer for “The Flash & the Furious” below.
While Nora grapples with the revelation that Thawne killed her grandmother, Team Flash must stop the formidable team-up of a newly sprung from jail Weather Witch and Silver Ghost, a new meta-tech villain who can control engines and motorized technology. Meanwhile, Caitlin and Cisco discuss creating a meta-human cure.
The Flash returns to the CW on Tuesday, January 15.
