Are you ready to set out on another adventure? ProgCore Fantasy has something you need to check out. The multimedia storytelling company, founded by Todd Stashwick and David Nett, has made it their mission to empower intimate dark fantasy storytelling with progressive ideals across multiple mediums. This is system-agnostic, meaning players don’t need to learn a new system to enjoy their content. Instead, it can be integrated into whatever they are currently loving.
Players can help ProgCore Fantasy bring this vision to life by supporting the upcoming Kickstarter for Dark Age of Theer. This isn’t your typical RPG adventure sourcebook. It is a multimedia, multi-sensory guide that will have your blood pumping and heart thumping from the moment you begin. The fully funded project will include the sourcebook, a documentary-style actual play, an animated short and a soundtrack album. There is bound to be something for everyone at your table to enjoy.

Dark Age of Theer Embraces Wonder, Mystery and Danger
ProgCore Fantasy’s vision is built on helping players relive the early days of RPGs. The company’s three pillars focus on bringing Wonder, Mystery and Danger back to the table. Their flagship sourcebook, Dark Age of Theer, embodies these pillars and focuses on elevating gameplay. Here, magic is rare, and those who experience it either respond in fear or absolute wonder. Of course, there are dragons, but in one of the best ways possible. They are terrifying because the world knows so little about the creatures and the ancient world they come from.
The sourcebook is divided into two parts. The first half introduces players to ProgCore Fantasy’s three pillars and explains how to incorporate them into gameplay. The second will introduce players to the Dark Age of Theer. This is done through stories that continue to tie wonder, mystery and danger into the world. It also includes adventure hooks, unique creatures and powerful magic that can be incorporated into play.
Stashwick and Nett are backed by some of the most exciting names in RPG. Sam DeLeve worked alongside Stashwick and Nett to design the overall game. They received support with the story from Anjali Bhimani, Jasmine Bhullar, Cecil Castellucci, Brea Grant, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Terry Matalas, Marc Bernardin, Christopher Monfette, Charity Stashwick, Elisa Teague and Wil Wheaton. And the beautiful art comes from Phillip Boutte Jr., Zelda Devon, Bob Eggleton, Julia Maddalina, Maia Igni, Eliot Sirota and Oscar Stashwick.
The Gifts Keep On Coming
A big part of the allure of the Dark Age of Theer Kickstarter is the other multimedia elements that will bring the world to life. They have a soundtrack that features music that embodies the mystery and wonder within Theer, from Jason Charles Miller and Geoffrey Schumann. There will also be a docu-style actual play, DMed, by Nett for Stashwick, Bhimani, Felicia Day, Marc Bernardin, Yuri Lowenthal, Dr. Drea Letamendi and directed by Brian Ward.
To keep things spicing up, they have announced an animated short set within the world of Theer. Stashwick and Nett will write the short, with Sean Bishop directing, Oscar Stashwick animating, and Bob Eggleton working on concepts and backgrounds. Their short Folly of Omeris gives a taste of what ProgCore Fantasy will deliver with the animated project. It draws inspiration from animated dark fantasy from the 1970s and 1980s, such as Rankin & Bass’s The Hobbit.
