It’s not easy being a spy, especially when you don’t remember who you are. Just ask Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh. Prime Video unveiled the second official trailer for its highly anticipated espionage series, Citadel, starring Richard Madden as Mason and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Nadia. It provides a deeper look into the breathtaking escapades and derring-do of two Citadel agents fighting tooth and nail to survive.
Here’s a synopsis for the series per Amazon Studios:
“Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency—tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people—was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives.
They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love. “

Besides Madden, Chopra Jonas and Tucci, Citadel also stars Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Roland Møller as Anders Silje and Davik Silje and Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy.
Citadel hails from Amazon Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, with Joe and Anthony Russo serving as executive producers. Stepping into the role of showrunner and writer is David Weil. Bryan Oh and Josh Appelbaum penned additional episodes.

This second trailer zeroes in on Mason and Nadia’s complex bond and how it affects their mission to dismantle Manticore. We also see more of Lesley Manville’s Dahlia as she plots to wipe Citadel off the map. Stanley Tucci squeezes in a few comedic one-liners as Bernard. All in all, the writing falls in line with the Russo Brothers’ Marvel works, so fans of the MCU might dig Citadel. While it feels a mite too close to The Bourne Identity in some respects, the visuals are stunning.
You can check out the new poster and trailer below. Strap yourself in for a thrill ride when the series premieres its first two episodes on Friday, April 28, 2023, with weekly episodes debuting through May 26.
