In the name of the moon, we won’t punish you for watching the new trailer for Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal the Movie! Netflix unveiled said new trailer along with official key art, images and the cast roster! We hath been blessed on this day.

Here’s a brief synopsis of the two-part flick featuring our Guardians of Love and Justice:

When a dark power enshrouds Earth and a dark circus troupe appears after a total solar eclipse, the scattered Sailor Guardians must reunite to bring light back into the world.

We learned last week that this new film will encompass the Dream arc written by creator Naoko Takeuchi. We’ll see our scouts embrace new abilities while taking on the Dead Moon Circus. In addition, we’ll bear witness to the burgeoning love between Chibi-Usa and Helios.

Chiaki Kon serves as the director with a score by Yasuharu Takanashi and character designs by Kazuko Tadano. TOEI Animation and Studio DEEN are responsible for animation production.

Never in my life did I imagine we’d be experiencing a Sailor Moon renaissance. I’m here for it! Netflix acquiring the rights to Takeuchi’s work feels natural. Organic, even. The streaming juggernaut is looking to expand its anime roster, so this feels like a necessary step in the right direction. Takanashi’s score already sounds stunning. I’m stoked!
