POWERLESS Gets the Plug Pulled After One Season

According to Deadline, Powerless has entered the chopping block from NBC. The DC work place comedy has officially been cancelled after their fate was still undecided. The network pulled the last three episodes from their line-up and now we know why.

Powerless followed the everyday employees of Wayne Industries as they tried to create items and tech that could protect citizens from super-being battles. Being an official DC property, the show was able to name-drop a lot of characters we know and love from the comics. They mentioned Bruce Wayne a good 10 times in the pilot, so they weren’t afraid to lean on their property.

It’s unfortunate that the show was cancelled as it had fans. But it appears that it couldn’t get past it’s 1.3 million pilot viewership. If the show had worked, it would’ve been a great step for DC to continue to dominate the TV realm. With the problems before it’s release, it makes it even more unfortunate.
