A website called Movie Casting Call is reporting today that the next Avengers film out of Marvel Studios, Avengers: Infinity War, is looking for extras in Atlanta as they go into production in January.

However, that’s not the news. Films pretty much always need extras and we already knew production was ramping up in January. No, the real news here is who they are reporting as the stars of the film. Of course, we have Chris Evans returning as Captain America and Robert Downey, Jr. returning as Iron Man. We’ve already heard confirmation that Benedict Cumberbatch would be reprising his role as Doctor Strange along with his trusted ally Wong (Benedict Wong).

The real news here is two-fold.

Guardians of the Galaxy

First, we’ve heard rumors that the Guardians of the Galaxy would make Earth-fall in this film, seeing Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord returning to his home planet. We’ve not really had any true confirmation of that rumor from the studio or any of the actors, but this website claims that all of the Guardians will be on set. This of course includes Zoe Saldana as Gamora and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, but it also includes Karen Gillan as Nebula. One name not mentioned here is Pom Klementieff as Mantis, who we’ve met in the trailer for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2. Also not mentioned in the rundown is Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

But, the biggest possible news here is that Brie Larson is mentioned in the rundown, appearing as Carol Danvers/ Captain Marvel. The long-standing rumor for her character has been that we would indeed first meet her in Infinity War before then seeing her in her own film, which hits screens in March of 2019, about a year after Infinity War’s release in May of 2018.

Everything here should be taken with a grain of salt. None of this is official, but the casting call website seems pretty legit, the film will most certainly need extras and it makes perfect sense that we’d meet Carol Danvers in Infinity War. However, without full confirmation from the studio, like we said, take this with a grain of salt.
