In what might be some of the best news to come out this week, Deadline is reporting that Phil Lord and Chris Miller, writers/directors of The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and directors of both 21 and 22 Jumpstreet, are reported to be working on the script for The Flash movie, which will star Ezra Miller as the titular character.

What makes this such great news? Lord and Miller have a particular tone — very fun, filled with wonder and whimsy, certainly not lacking in humor but still with a great eye for action. This tone is dead on perfect for any incarnation of The Flash. The CW’s done a great job with their TV adaptation of the property, making it one of the funnest shows around, and hopefully this is a sign that Warner Bros. is taking a similar approach to their film franchise.

They are currently not slated to direct the film, they are simply working on the story for now, but here’s to hoping.
